Game On Sports Pub is now on Nguyễn Công Trứ Street, just next to Rogue Bar. With the new location Game On is still one of Saigon’s most popular sports bars for expats. The first floor is now more of a lounge space with really nice natural light and two huge tables, while the 2nd floor is the main bar with all the sports action – 9 TVs, a few big screen projectors, dart boards and a nice little balcony overlooking the street with pretty good views. The TVs have a constant stream of mainly Australian sport but they will play anything if you ask the staff or manager (Premier League, NFL, Rugby, A-LeagueMonaco Grand Prix, Wimbledon, Golf, Ultimate Fighting, Major League Baseball, Cricket Test Matches, NBA). They can get pretty much any live sport stream you’re looking for.
While popular with the expat community there’s always a solid tourist presence due to the location, the sports, and the overall friendly vibe. The staff is usually upbeat and attentive. You may find yourself with an empty glass if there’s a chatting session going on, but they’re generally spot on and will even help the tourists with some good sight-seeing or food tips. Just ask.
The food is a notch above most pub grub, and their chicken wings are some of the best you’ll find in HCM. Their plan is to soon offer a more bistro-like menu and a more eco-friendly offering to set themselves apart from Saigon’s other sports pubs. Their beer menu is decent and well priced – 35,000VND for Saigon Red and 333.
Game On also hosts comedians and trivia nights (Thursdays).
“Bringing Live & Loud Sports to Saigon” Is what Game On claims, and they’re doing a good job of it. Overall a good place to relax after a long day of work or of touring the city.
