O'brien's Happy Hour Details Type of Happy Hour:
35K for Tiger Drafts
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- busy street
- centrally located
A very centrally located Irish pub in Saigon with a dark and comfy feel. Just a few blocks from the Opera house, O’brien’s is mellow place to stop in for a few drinks, to play some billiards upstairs with friends, or to catch some live music. The staff is generally more attentive than most Saigon bars of this type and on Tuesdays the live music gets going at 8:00pm downstairs. If you’re not into it just head upstairs or sit at a table by the front. It can be smoky, but again there’s a few areas to sit, so it can be avoided. They have one TV that they play sports on but if you’re looking for a game there are sports bars in district 1 with better channel selection.
Being so central the customers are a mix of business travelers from the nearby hotels, tourists passing by, and locals who pop in and out for a few drinks and to catch the live music.
The Wanderlusters are a frequent weekday band playing bluegrass and country and providing an all around good vibe.
If you finish work early and are looking for a deal the 4 hour happy hour starts at 3. They also have a decent range of beers including Guinness and Pasteur Street’s Irish Stout. The food menu has a range of western dishes which come in large portions and are your typical Irish bar quality, decent but not great, although the pizza gets good reviews.
It’s a great place for
- bringing a group of friends
- going by yourself
- having a business meeting
